The YMA participates annually in the Kidscreen Summit in February. It will be organizing a Canadian delegation in partnership with Creative BC, Ontario Creates, Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC), Téléfilm Canada and the Canada Media Fund (CMF).
The Kidscreen Summit is the annual event that has quickly become the world's leading children's entertainment business conference, regularly welcoming over 2,200 participants from around the globe. Leading decision-makers and deal-makers attend to engage in critical dialogue, network and find new ideas to drive their businesses forward.
During Kidscreen, it is the opportunity to make it easy for Canadian producers, broadcasters, creators of children’s content to meet, pitch, screen, collaborate and network in one unique Canadian delegation area. It is a key forum for discussion among producers, broadcasters, distributors, creators and professionals from the television and digital media industry. It’s a unique opportunity for representatives from the various sectors of this industry to forge and strengthen ties in an environment conducive to sharing ideas and knowledge. Building this type of synergy among all players is critical in this evolving industry. The commingling of skills and talent within the youth television and new-media community goes a long way toward improving the quality of homegrown productions, thus enhancing their value on national and international markets.
The YMA will be attending the 2025 Kidscreen Summit in San Diego (Feb. 9 to 12) thanks to the renewed support of Telefilm Canada, the Canada Media Fund (CMF), the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC), Ontario Creates, and Creative BC.
