Youth Media Alliance (“YMA”, “we“, “our” or “us“), respects privacy rights. This Privacy Notice governs personal information gathered by us through this website at http://ymamj.org/ (“Website”).
The YMA is a national, not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to enriching the lives of Quebec and Canadian children and teens by helping to improve the content available to them on all screens. The YMA pursues its mission of promoting the highest quality content by annually recognizing the best in Canadian English- and French-language children's and youth programming through its Awards of Excellence. The YMA offers continuing professional development opportunities tailored to the specific needs of youth production artisans through workshops, seminars and special events such as the Média-Jeunes and Children, Youth & Media conferences. Since 2015 The YMA has offered fellowships: the Andra Sheffer YMA Fellowship, the Thérèse-Pinho YMA Fellowship, the Steven DeNure YMA Fellowship and the John Rooney Creative Fund. The YMA also undertakes research to better understand the impact of media on young people. Finally, The YMA advocates balancing the interests of the broadcast and production industries with the public policy needs of children and young media consumers.

Yapla provides users of the Yapla Platform with association management software that enables The YMA to manage its members, donations and subscriptions, communications, events and accounting. COLLECTION AND USE OF FINANCIAL INFORMATION
We may need to collect and use financial information to process the payment of your membership, the purchase of tickets to our events, or donations you make to The YMA, in order to prevent or detect possible fraudulent transactions, or for any other reasonable purpose that allows us to manage our business activities in connection with your membership.
The YMA, through Yapla, uses the Stripe payment platform, which includes certain integrated functions. Its use is governed by the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes Stripe's Terms of Service (together referred to as the “Stripe Services Agreement”). Other payment platforms may be authorized and integrated into the Platform from time to time, at Yapla's discretion.
If you make your payment through a third-party service such as Stipe, that third-party service's privacy policy will also apply to your personal information.
AVOIDING COLLECTION FROM CHILDREN
You must be 14 years of age to use the Website. We do not knowingly collect or maintain any Personal Information from children 13 and under. In addition, no part of this website is designed with the purpose of attracting any person 13 and under.

We use Personal Information for the purposes for which it is submitted, such as to sign you up as a member of YMA, remind you when your membership is due for renewal, renew your membership, provide you with membership information and updates, issue you tickets to our events, and respond to your inquiries. SHARING WITH OUR SERVICE PROVIDERS
