To support greater diversity in youth production and creation teams, the YMA, along with its partners Radio-Canada, Télé-Québec, TFO and APTN, are offering four scholarships to four people from diverse or indigenous communities, managed by four companies. A total of $10,000 will be distributed annually.

To support greater diversity in youth production and creation teams, the YMA, along with its partners Radio-Canada, Télé-Québec, TFO and APTN, are offering four scholarships to four people from diverse or indigenous communities, managed by four companies. A total of $10,000 will be distributed annually.

An application from a French production company must include the candidacy of a person from a diverse or aboriginal background for a project in development or production. The winner will be integrated into the team of a youth program (aged 2-17) in development or production (fiction, documentary or live-action magazine or animation or current affairs for young people).

The company may submit an application including a person it has recruited itself, or through the bank of candidates that the YMA will make available to all interested companies. YMA will not act as an intermediary between the two parties.

The objective is to offer a person a new experience in the world of youth television or digital production, to broaden his or her network of contacts and to participate concretely, based on his or her aptitudes and interests, in the development and production of a program to be broadcast on Radio-Canada, Télé-Québec, TFO or APTN. This training will provide recruits with the skills they need to pursue their careers.

At the end of the project, the winner will be asked to write a brief summary of his or her experience, which can be used as part of a report or an article on the YMA blog.

Financing

YMA will provide a $2,500 scholarship to contribute to the remuneration of an internship participant, that is the equivalent of $250 per day for 10 days. The company will be able to increase this remuneration and adjust the duration of the internship at its own expense (e.g., by extending it).

The scholarship would be paid in full by YMA upon signature of an agreement between the company and YMA.

The company is responsible for managing the internship and remunerating the intern.

Pool of Candidates

The YMA is inviting candidates to subscribe to the Pool of Candidates by visiting the website. The YMA is building a bank of candidates for various internships or projects, to meet the recruitment needs for our members. Always on the lookout for new talent, our candidate banks are made up of motivated, committed, and competent people who want to do an internship or work. To respond quickly to one’s staffing needs, the candidate bank is shared with our members. YMA does not intervene in the selection process, other than to pass on information

Number of Internships

Four companies will be selected each year to offer internships to a participant per year and benefit from this financial support, depending on the funds available.

A call for applications will be issued each year according to the following process:
