YMA is pleased to present its Youth Media Conference, held today at the PHI Centre in Montreal - a one-day event, followed by the Prix Jeunesse International 2024 the next day.
The conference is a forum for the exchange of ideas, training and development for young screen-based media professionals in Canada. Over a hundred delegates are expected to attend this unique event, where leading experts will discuss programming trends and provide insight into the needs and interests of young people. The program includes conferences, screenings, discussions and meetings with prestigious Canadian guests.
Alongside the impressive line-up of panelists and conference moderators, the winner of the YMA 2025 Andra Sheffer Scholarship will be announced, the YMA AGM will take place with the election of board members, and finally the YMA Prix Jeunesse will be presented, the following day and available online to showcase the Prix Jeunesse International-Munich 2024 material. A chance to discover what's being done internationally.
More than 100 participants, 36 panelists and moderators will discuss topics that affect our industry, including:
- Artificial intelligence combined with threats and opportunities
- Reaching today's youth audience
- Challenging different creative spheres to speak to teens - Being Teen: A case study
- Seizing social networking opportunities for a youth audience?
- Should we think about properties or programs (content)?
- And Socio-economic inclusion essential to diversity, equity and inclusion
