Montreal, February 4th, 2024 – The Youth Media Alliance (YMA) and its partners are leading the Canadian Delegation to the Kidscreen Summit on February 4 to 7, 2024 at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina; thanks to the renewed support of Telefilm Canada, the Canada Media Fund (CMF), the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC), Ontario Creates, and Creative BC.
Over 275 Canadian producers and broadcasters of the children content community will be meeting potential buyers and partners in the Canadian Delegation booth, that is over 350 appointments over four days, representing a significant business volume that will be discussed with a Canadian Showreel showcasing the amazing new productions. In addition, participants will be attending conferences and special events organized by Brunico during the Kidscreen Summit. It is the annual event that has quickly become the world’s leading children’s entertainment business conference, regularly welcoming over 2,200 participants from around the globe. Leading decision-makers and dealmakers attend to engage in dialogue, network and find new ideas to drive their businesses forward.
The YMA is also pleased to welcome dignitaries from the Canadian and Quebec governments to help promote Canadian business in the region, including Karen Sleiman, Consul of the Canadian Consulate in San Diego, and David Ruiz, Director of Public Affairs and Cooperation, and Melissa Isom, Commercial Attaché, from the Délégation générale du Québec à Los Angeles.
It will all begin with the YMA greeting and welcoming attendees in the Canadian Delegation booth at an informal Get-together on February 4th, 2024 at 10 a.m.

About the Youth Media Alliance
The Youth Media Alliance (YMA) seeks to enrich the lives of Canadian children and teens by helping improve the quality of the content created for them on all screen-based media. The Alliance pursues its mission of encouraging high-quality content by presenting annual awards of excellence to the best productions targeting young English- and French-speaking Canadians. It offers ongoing training tailored to the special needs of youth production professionals through workshops, seminars, and special events such as the Children, Youth & Media and Média-Jeunes conferences. Since 2015, the Youth Media Alliance has developed and now offers four scholarships: the YMA Andra Sheffer, the YMA Thérèse-Pinho, the YMA Steven DeNure, and the John Rooney Creator Fund. The YMA also conducts original research investigating the impact of screen-based media on young people. Finally, the YMA advocates for the needs of Canada’s child and youth media consumers in matters of public policy.
