Montreal, February 26, 2025 — The Youth Media Alliance (YMA) is pleased to announce that Kim Wilson, Co- Director at Children's Media Lab, will be the President of the Jury to chair the Awards of Excellence jury deliberations. Over more than 36 jurors have accepted to judge the applications in the 22 awards categories.  

Kim Wilson is the Director of OneFish TwoFish Consulting, supporting content creators with focus testing, education, developmental expertise and cultural consultation. As Co-Director of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Children’s Media Lab, Kim leads research on inclusion and diverse storytelling. At TMU, she also teaches Children’s Media and recently co-chaired the 2024 Child and Teen Consumption Conference. With more than 25 years of leadership at TV Ontario and CBC, she is a passionate advocate for Canadian children’s content, serves on the Board of Youth Empowering Parents, and holds degrees in media and childhood studies. 

The nominees for the Awards of Excellence will be announced in March.  

The gala will honour Canada’s best youth programming productions on May 28 2025, in Toronto at CBC’s Glenn Gould Studio.  Approximately 16 to 20 Awards of Excellence are presented each year. Over 200 industry professionals join YMA to celebrate the talent, passion and creativity of Canadian children's and youth production professionals. The evening is an unforgettable moment for ALL who attend, all those who have helped YMA achieve its mission through their commitment to the children's media community.
